Ohio Cat Partners with Columbus Crew to Support Student Success at Wedgewood Middle School
Ohio Cat, the Official Construction Equipment Partner of the Columbus Crew, recently teamed up with the Crew and local nonprofit Student Success Stores for a meaningful community initiative at Wedgewood Middle School in Columbus.
On Wednesday, volunteers from all three organizations came together to restock the school’s Student Success Store—a resource that provides free essentials to students in need, anonymously and with dignity. This effort ensures that students have access to basic necessities that help remove barriers to learning.
A Community Effort
One of the most memorable moments of the day was seeing the Taylor Family—Ken, Gillian, and Gordon—join in to help students stock the shelves. Their involvement added a personal touch to an already impactful event, highlighting the power of community coming together for a common cause.
Making a Difference
Thanks to the generosity of Ohio Cat employees, more than a dozen shopping bags were filled with donated items, including:
* Soccer equipment
* Personal care products
* Winter gloves
* School supplies
* Easy-to-prepare foods
These contributions help students at Wedgewood Middle School succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
About the Student Success Store
The Wedgewood location is one of 15 Student Success Stores operating in Columbus City Schools. These stores serve as lifelines for students, offering support that fosters a sense of community and removes obstacles to education.
This year’s donation drive, led by Ohio Cat and the Columbus Crew, provided a much-needed refresh to the store. It builds on its opening last September, which coincided with the 2024 Campeones Cup match between the Crew and Liga MX’s Club América. Crew players even joined the celebration, unveiling the Crew-themed store designed to inspire students and boost school spirit.

Ohio Cat is proud to support initiatives that strengthen our communities and empower students to succeed.
