How the 150-Ton Chiller Works

Air-cooled chillers are streamlined, self-contained refrigeration units designed to remove heat from water sources through absorption. They are compact and smaller than water-cooled chillers, making them a perfect solution for places where you have limited space and restricted water access.

This cooling equipment connects to an air handling system and draws water in, subjecting it to an evaporation process where heat is transferred away. Next, the chiller moves the water through a compressor, where it removes even more heat using fans. The collected heat discharges outside the machine.

The water comes out at a much cooler temperature on the other side. Once the cool water is used and warmed up again, it returns to the system, where the process repeats. You can choose to let the hot air you generate get released into the atmosphere or configure a system to harness it for use as an auxiliary heat source.
