How The 5,000 CFM Dehumidifier Works

Desiccant dehumidifiers like our 5000 CFM units extract moisture from the air using desiccants, or absorbent materials that attract and hold water vapor, such as silica gel. They employ a powerful fan to take in the ambient air and push it through a large rotating wheel containing the desiccant to draw out moisture.

As the wheel spins, it disperses air that is warmed through a secondary heated air stream. This heating process helps expel the water vapor into the collection area, where it is drained from the system. Then, the warm air dries out the desiccant to facilitate continuous operation. After the air is heated and dried, the dehumidifier discharges it back into the environment.
