How the Direct Fired Heaters Work

The durable design and powerful construction of our Direct Fired NG/LP Heaters mean they’re hardworking and long-lasting. These heaters operate on natural gas or LPG, making them ideal for construction sites, warehouses, and outdoor spaces. Our rental heaters have an electronic ignition to guarantee complete combustion and a thermostat for ease of use.

A direct-fired heater is most similar to a gas grill. This type of heater works by connecting a fuel source directly to a burner and igniting the fuel using oxygen from the airstream. A baffle forces air through to the burner, where it combines with natural gas or LPG and combusts to create a flame. The heat disperses efficiently after the combustion occurs, and the heater can warm a large space while using very little fuel.

Open-flame heaters are ideal for open-air heating on job/construction sites, during sporting events, and for temporary shelters. They are also used to provide temporary heat for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Direct-fired heaters do produce carbon dioxide, so it’s essential to use them outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces. These double-walled stainless steel units can burn either natural gas or LPG. Be sure to check the specifications of the units included in your rental fleet.
