JOB SUMMARY:
This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT locations and customer locations. A willingness to study and learn new skills and technical information related to the job is required. Field Servicemen troubleshoot and safely repair general heavy equipment drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems, and normal machine repairs. They work from an Ohio CAT service truck in the natural elements.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- College and continued education in a technical field are a plus.
- Must be available to be on call as business needs permit.
- Experience related to construction or power equipment service and repair is required.
- Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record following Ohio CAT standards (4 or fewer moving violation points).
COMPETENCIES:
- General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, or experience with construction or power equipment required.
- Strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge is crucial.
- Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates, as required.
- Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Strong computer and software skills are a must.

- Lifting/Carrying 40 lbs. Lift/Carry and 50lb pull
- Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Dexterity Normal
- Frequent standing/sitting up and down stairs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
