JOB SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Rep works with customer phone lists, making calls to inform customers of current marketing promotions on equipment, and other related call assignments. Through telemarketing efforts, they develop relationships with smaller customers and prospects and create leads. They will be a knowledgeable equipment resource for customers, helping them understand their equipment options, and providing access to product information, and details on Ohio CAT services. The ISR influences purchasing decisions and generates leads. Working with the sales reps, they qualify and turn over leads and then facilitate sales, assisting with documentation. Customer calls are made within a defined territory and are to update customer data, extend reach on marketing campaigns, and generate leads for the sales reps. The ISR maintains and updates customer information and logs all contact activity in the company CRM, Sales Link. In addition to lead generation phone calls, the ISR assists walk-in customers at their branch. They will need to manage their schedule in line with the needs of walk-in traffic, while still maintaining a high telemarketing call frequency. The ISR works within the marketing department and reports to the Regional Sales Manager yet will also work closely with sales reps and other managers in the flow of managing customer needs. Product knowledge will be provided through onboarding training. The ISR will learn about Cat equipment, competitive products, and Ohio Cat services, to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns. Ongoing training will be a part of the ISR role to always be able to effectively answer customer questions from incoming calls, outbound calling efforts, and walk-in traffic.
COMPETENCIES:
Experience and knowledge of sales skills necessary to sell a premium priced product. Maintains knowledge of Caterpillar and Ohio CAT products and options. Competent in oral and written communication Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction. Ability to quote and close sales.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate, college preferred. Two years of sales experience or customer service experience required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
