JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
As an Ohio CAT Field Technician you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair natural gas engines used primarily in the gas compression industry, from a company service truck, in the field, often times at customer job sites. The emphasis of this position will be Caterpillar G3300, G3400, G3500, G3600, and GCM engines. REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus.
- Experience related to commercial engine service and repair is required
- Experience with electronic engine control and management systems preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio CAT standards
- Knowledge of Caterpillar or other OEM natural gas engines
- Strong technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction or power equipment required, and strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge is crucial
- Must have the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete repairs and manufacturers’ updates, as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling
- Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
- Dexterity Normal
- Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
