JOB SUMMARY:

As a field technician, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair general heavy equipment, engines, drive-train components, and electrical and hydraulic systems from a company service truck in the field, often at customer job sites. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and maintaining engines and/or heavy equipment components, such as torque converters, final drives, undercarriage, hydraulic pumps, and much more. REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
College and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus.
Experience in construction or heavy equipment service and repair is needed, preferably with Caterpillar equipment.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record by Ohio CAT standards
Strong technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction or heavy equipment are required, and strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge is crucial
Must have the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete repairs and manufacturers’ updates, as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling
Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
Dexterity Normal
Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
